The Editing Masterclass Bundle

How a flat RAW file becomes a dreamy, cinematic photograph.

Two of my own travel photos, rebuilt in Photoshop from the RAW file to the final export. In real time, every decision explained as I make it. Nothing sped up, nothing cut out. You see all of it.

Why this exists

You've seen a thousand editing tips. You've probably never watched a whole edit.

You can develop a RAW file. You can mask, you can grade, you know your way around the panels. The photo comes out fine.

Then you set it beside the ones you keep saving, and yours is missing something you can't put a name to. Sharpness isn't the problem. Saturation isn't either. It has more to do with how the light sits in the frame, where the eye goes, whether the picture feels cinematic or just technically fine.

Every tutorial hands you a fragment. One panel, one slider, a before and after. The two hours in between rarely get shown: the order things happen in, what gets fixed before anything else, and the hundred small decisions that separate a fine photo from one people stop scrolling for.

"I look at the photographs I edit and I have always known there was so much more I could be doing. So I knew I was missing something, but didn't know what."

What you get

Two photos. Two complete edits.

The Croatia masterclass is heavily focused on colour grading. The Paris masterclass is focused on editing the light in the photo. Between them you see both halves of where that dreamy, atmospheric quality actually comes from.

You get the RAW file for both, so you can edit alongside me on the same image. And the finished PSD for both, so you can open any layer and see exactly how it was built.

In their words

What the photographers who took them said

★★★★★ Rated 4.8 out of 5 by the photographers who took them

"I enjoyed watching a live edit in its entirety, rather than just the basic panel and a bit of masking - great to learn new skills to add atmosphere to photos."

Fiona @fionajclark

"While this course does touch on color and the color harmonies, it goes above and beyond in showing you various photoshop techniques to establish the colors in your photos, how to align them with a color harmony, and how to create atmosphere in your edits… I feel a lot of folks color grade and do some small light work with masks and add a vignette. This course really shows you how to make a scroll-stopper image!"

Matt @w00dStok

"I gained a deeper understanding of working with Smart Objects and layers, along with practical techniques for color balance adjustments using precise masking and targeted selections. The instruction is clear, intentional, and immediately applicable."

Nancy @nancy_brindisi_photography

"Everything! From making colors more harmonious, directing the viewer's eye to the main part of the image to your sharpening trick. It was all so valuable!"

Who is teaching this

I'm Lou-Ann. I edit photographs for a living.

Lou-Ann, French photo retoucher and travel photographer, at her editing desk

I'm a French photo retoucher and travel photographer, based in New Zealand. I spent years retouching in studios, learning from mentors who pushed me hard. But before that, I spent years being frustrated about not getting the result I had in mind.

Somewhere in all of that, between the mentors, the trial and error and the techniques I ended up building myself, a workflow took shape. It's the one I run on every photo I take now, and it's what my work is recognised for: that dreamy, atmospheric look. It's also exactly what I teach in these two masterclasses.

The other thing I learned early: watching someone edit a photograph from the very first step to the last taught me more than any single tutorial ever did. Pick up one technique here and another one there and you end up with a pile of tricks and no idea how they fit together into a whole process.

These two masterclasses are the closest thing to sitting beside me while I work: no shortcuts, no secrets held back, just the entire edit as it actually happens.

Before you worry about it

What if I only use Lightroom?

Both edits are done in Photoshop, so you do need access to Photoshop. I'm not going to pretend otherwise.

But you don't need to know Photoshop. Most people who take these don't. That's exactly why the bundle opens with Photoshop Essentials, a 25-minute mini-course that walks you through the interface, the toolbar, the layers panel, and adjustment layers and masks. It isn't an in-depth course and it won't overwhelm you. It exists to get you to the point where you can follow along, and for almost everyone, it does.

86% of students watch it before starting. It's included, and it's the reason people who have only ever edited in Lightroom finish these classes.

"I have only edited in Lightroom and found Photoshop too mystifying. Watching Lou-Ann work, with good explanations and easy to follow instructions has given me confidence to use Photoshop more."

Inside the edits

Four things you'll keep using long after

You'll watch each one built from nothing, on a real photo. I'd rather you see them work than read me describe them.

Local Colour Grading

Croatia students voted this their favourite part of the whole class.

Shape the Light

The most-named breakthrough in the entire feedback set.

The Secret Sauce

The step at the end that nobody expects. You'll see why it works.

The Glow

The thing I get asked about more than anything else. (No, it isn't the Orton effect.)

Who this is for

This is for you if

  • You can already do a basic edit, but your photos stop short of what you pictured
  • You want to watch a full professional workflow, not another isolated tip
  • You learn by doing, and you want the file to work on
  • You want to understand why a decision gets made, not just which slider moves

This isn't for you if

  • You're looking for presets or a one-click look
  • You want a full beginners' course in Photoshop. What's here is a 25-minute intro to get you started
  • You want it fast. These are real-time edits, deliberately
The price

$99 USD, once. Yours for life.

Most photographers have already spent more than this on presets and courses that fixed one piece of the problem. This is the entire edit, twice, with both files, and you keep it for the rest of your life.

"So much value in the master class, i wish i had done it sooner! so many cool tips and tricks that are going to help my photos pop."

Questions

Before you buy

Do I need to know Photoshop?

You need access to Photoshop, but you don't need to know it. The bundle opens with a 25-minute Photoshop Essentials module covering the interface, the toolbar, layers, and adjustment layers and masks. 86% of students watch it before starting. It won't turn you into a Photoshop expert, but it gets you far enough to follow along.

Do I need The Color Code first?

No, they stand on their own. The Color Code is a method for making colour decisions; these are two complete edits built around that thinking. Plenty of people take these first and go back to the Color Code afterwards, and plenty do the reverse.

Is this just The Color Code again?

No. The Color Code teaches you to see and choose colour. These show you an entire edit: RAW development, cleaning, local colour grading, shaping the light, atmosphere, sharpening, export. One student put it this way: "it goes above and beyond in showing you various photoshop techniques… This course really shows you how to make a scroll-stopper image!"

How long is it, and is anything sped up?

3 hours 42 minutes across 35 lessons. And no, nothing is sped up. That's deliberate. Many people edit alongside me in real time, and others want to see every detail. If a section isn't useful to you, skip ahead in the player. The point is that nothing is hidden.

Do I get the photo files?

Yes. The RAW file for both photos so you can work on the same image I do, and the finished PSD for both so you can open any layer and see how it was built. They're for practice only, so please don't publish or print them.

I shoot landscapes, not cities. Will this still help?

Both photos happen to be street scenes, but nothing in the workflow is specific to cities. Reading the colours already in a frame, grading locally, deciding where the light falls and building atmosphere apply to any photograph you take.

What software version do I need?

Any recent version of Photoshop with Camera Raw. Nothing in either edit relies on a feature that only exists in the newest release.

How long do I have access?

For life. Watch as often as you like, at your own pace. These are complete recordings of two specific edits, so unlike my other courses they aren't updated over time. What you see is what you keep, permanently.

What if it isn't for me?

You're covered by a 14-day, no-questions-asked refund. Email me within 14 days and I'll send your money back.

From the students

What they took away

"The idea of Shaping the Light was a huge breakthrough for me. The secret sauce, color grading, and glow were so important too."

Stu @StuCPhoto17

"Now if I see something interesting, I have started seeing colors. This looks good because of complementary colors. This looks good because of split complimentary."

@Travel_with_donny

"I feel before I focused on everything too much and oversaturated images but now I learned to notice more details and highlight the right things."

@annpaitz

"the workflow has a focus on working with selections except other courses that mostly use radial gradients. Overall it was very well explained."

@stefanhb.photography
